Marlene Thomas, 84, of Peru, passed away Saturday, December 18, 2021 at her home with her loving children by her side. Marlene was born in Brooklyn, NY, May 20, 1937, the daughter of Louis and Lucille (Iacono) Jacklitsch. Marlene was a devoted wife to her husband Walter and loved her family very much. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, camping, fishing, the casino and motorcycling across the United States with her husband. Left to cherish her memory are her four children, Darlene and Randy Coryer of Saratoga, Michael and Tamara Thomas of Peru, Donna and Bill Downs of Peru, and Diana Thomas of Altona; six grandchildren, Randy, Shannon, Joshua, Kayela, Taylor and Brandon; eight great-grandchildren, Preston, Aaliyah, Addison, Aspen, Wayde, Jaxson, Brayden and Bryson; sister, Lorraine Curtis; brother, Ronald Jacklitsch; her loving bird Tweety; and several nieces, nephews, family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Walter; her grandson, Karl Thomas Downs; and her brother, Louis Jacklitsch. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 from 1 to 3 PM at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at 3 PM in St. Augustine’s Cemetery with the Rev. Alan D. Shnob, (retired) officiating.
