I, Barbara Jean Chilton (Caron) was called home on Wednesday November 17th, 2021 and was greeted by my loved ones who passed before me. My family gathered at my side as I departed. The love of my life, Leigh Stephen Chilton welcomed me home with open arms, I am finally at peace. We cherished 52 blissful years together raising our beautiful family prior to his passing on December 11th, 2017. He was my entire existence and the strength that got me through. I lived a very fortunate life, for this I am forever grateful. I was given the gift of life on August 18th, 1945, in Dannemora, New York at my family home. During my time here, I was a Licensed Practical Nurse at CVPH for 25 years. I loved my job and continued to show that type of care and dedication until the end of my life. In my spare time, I enjoyed cooking for my family, going to hunting camp, winters in Florida, going for Sunday drives, camping, bowling and my diamond art. And above all loved life. I loved spending time with family and friends and wouldn't have changed any of it for the world. Even though I am gone; I will forever live on in the memories that everyone keeps close to their heart. I am survived by so many of my loved ones… my two beautiful daughters, Tammey Drollette (Chilton) and her husband Wayne, and Kim Chilton and her companion Todd Poupore; my granddaughters, my pride and joys, Katelyn Lashway (Drollette) and her husband Matthew and great-granddaughter Elizabeth and great-grandbaby Oliver Lashway due in March, and Kelley Myers (Drollette) and her husband Casey; my brother, Allen Caron and wife Leona; my sisters, Linda Aubin and husband John, and Leda Collins and husband Lincoln; my husband's siblings, Mary Cayea, Stephen and Debbie Chilton and Connie and Robert Donah; and many nieces and nephews. I was predeceased by my parents, Andrew and Rita (Trombley) Caron; parents-in-law, Stephen and Lillian (Arno) Chilton; brother, David Caron; sister, Judy Pierce; brothers-in-law, Sam Lamar and Dale Chilton; and sister-in-law, Nancy Chilton. My Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at 11 am at St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville. Committal prayers will follow in the parish cemetery. A reception will follow with details to be announced at the Mass. Donations in my memory may be made to Hospice of the North Country or the North Country Cancer Fund. Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru, 643-9055.
