Mark N. Pope, 57, of Lakeside Rd, Peru, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, November 9, 2021 in St. Petersburg, Florida. He was born in Wilmington, Delaware, September 29, 1964, the son of Franz and Anne Pope. Mark, who will be remembered as “Grumpa” to his grandbabies and “Pumpkin” to his close friends. Mark was known for his infectious smile and deep laugh! Mark was an amazing father, loyal friend to many and a dedicated employee for over 25 years with CVPH Medical Center – which was more than just a job to him – it was his second family. Mark was an adventurous soul always seeing where the back roads would take him. Mark will be missed by so many that loved and respected him. Left to cherish his memory are, his wife, Maggie Fournier-Pope; daughter and son-in-law Brittany and Ian Hayford, and their children – Sydney, Sylys and Jade; son, Colin James Pope; step-son James Christopher Duprey; his mother and father, Anne and Franz Pope; brothers, Johann Pope, and Franz Pope; sister Kirsten Pope (Alex Gibson); as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Mark is also survived by his extended family – his in-laws, Walter and Linda Fournier, Sr.; Michelle and Jody Perkins, Walt and Jody Fournier, Jr., Wendy and Aaron Connell and Vickie and Kevin Hart. Mark was predeceased by his first wife Kandy Pope; and his father, Lloyd Harris. Relatives and friends are invited to call Wednesday, November 17, 2021 from 4 to 7 pm at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A reception will follow Wednesday evening at Livingood’s in Peru. All are welcome. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family at Lakeview Cemetery in Willsboro.
