Marilyn Francis Brunell, 67, of Red Fox Lane, Plattsburgh, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at her home under the loving care of her family and Hospice of the North Country. She was born in Plattsburgh on June 26, 1953, the daughter of Raymond and Florence (Reyell) Garsow. Marilyn was a special education teachers’ assistant for 36 years at CVES. She loved spending time with her family and friends and spending her winters in Florida. She also loved traveling and riding around in the old ‘64 SS Impala with her husband. She also had a passion for gambling. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 50 years, James E. Brunell; Her two children, Karrie (Mark) Boyea and Jason (Patty Griswold) Brunell; Sisters, Leona (Allen) Caron, Barbara Lareau, and Carolyn (David) Armitage; sister in law, Debbie Garsow-Deyo; Her 4 grandchildren, Ashley (Brandon Mills) Boyea, Reilly Brunell, and Alex and Samantha Brunell of Kansas. In addition to her parents, Marilyn was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph and Wayne Garsow. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Marilyn Brunell may be made to the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center 212 Cornelia Street Plattsburgh, NY 12901.
