Jared Weldon Mann, 86, of the Port Douglas Road, Keeseville, died Monday, January 25, 2021 at the UVM Health Network, CVPH in Plattsburgh. He was born in Corning, December 20, 1934, the son of Kenneth and Cora (Smolen) Mann. He grew up in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania. Following school, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country proudly from 1954 until his honorable discharge in 1958. He married the former Dawn Carol Porter, September 6, 1958 in Lexington, Massachusetts. They lived in Somerville, Massachusetts for many years where Jared owned and operated J.W. Mann and Son Construction. In 2001 while searching for a place to enjoy their outdoor hobbies, they settled in Keeseville. Jared was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, skiing, tying flies, working in the yard, driving his tractor, and maintaining his blueberry bushes and fruit trees. He loved his family and especially enjoyed time with his great-granddaughter who was always looking to him for "M & M's". Left to cherish the memory of Jared are, his loving wife of 62 years, Dawn Mann; children, Darlene (Tom) Forsyth and Doug (Laurie) Mann, Kimberly (Joseph) Lorusso, and Heather (Chris) Carbone; 8 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; sister, Shirley Phillips; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents. There will be no public services. Burial will be in the spring in the Essex County Veterans Cemetery.
