Kathleen A. Klages, 77, of 9 Smart Street in Keeseville, died Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at the UVM Health Network, CVPH, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Keeseville, October 5, 1942, the daughter of the late, Albert and Lillian (Manor) Bashaw. Kathleen grew up in Keeseville and graduated from Keeseville High School. She served as the Village of Keeseville Trustee for over 20 years. She retired from the AuSable Valley School. She operated Kathy's Alterations in Keeseville for many years. She enjoyed reading, sewing, bowling, and going to bingo at the casinos. Kathy was a past president of the Elks Ladies Auxiliary, served 10 years in the Keeseville Volunteer Fire Department also serving as an EMT, and was a member of the VFW and Moose Ladies Auxiliary. She was proud to have been the first female fire fighter in the Keeseville dept. Left to cherish the memory of Kathleen are, her husband, Richard "Rick" Klages; three sons, Andrew (Jennifer) Davis, Kevin (Melissa) Davis, and Danny (Shelley) Davis; step children, Aaron Klages, and Yvonne Klages; siblings, Herbert (Ann) Bashaw, Lorraine (Norman) Donahue, Alberta (Rodney) Estes, David (Barbara) Bashaw, and Carl (Ingrid) Bashaw; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her infant brother, Donald Bashaw; and sister, Elva Blaise. Services will be private and at the convenience of her family.
