Terrance Henry "Terry" Cumm, 79, of Chesterfield Street, Keeseville, died Sunday, September 6, 2020 at his home, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, June 16, 1941, the son of Henry and Grace (Shappy) Cumm. He served in the United States Army from 1959 until his honorable discharge in 1962. Terry was a professional sheetrocker for many years, 25 of those he owned and operated his own company. He later worked in the maintenance dept. for the AuSable Valley School District, retiring in 2002. Lastly, he worked at the Peru rest I87 rest area for 5 years prior to his lung cancer diagnosis. He and Sharron cared for more than 200 foster children over a 30 year span. Many of them have remained in contact, grateful for the opportunity to have been included in their loving home. Sharron tended to be the authoritarian while Terry was the fun, fishing partner, and entertainer, who they all looked up to with the highest regard. Left to cherish the memory of Terry are, his loving wife of 43 years, Sharron (Colby) Cumm; their combined family, children, Penny Baker (Corky), Cindy Ives (Bill), Stephan Baker (Karen), Crystal Foley (Glen), Kelly Cumm, Terrance Cumm, Jr., Joshua Cumm, and Joshua Blaise; sister, Eleanor of Troy; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Edward; and two sisters, Connie Sweeda, and Roda Ormsby. At Terry's request there will be no public calling hours or services.
