Mildred M. "Millie" (Buckley) Duprey, 84, of the Lapham Mills Road, Peru, died Saturday, June 27, 2020 at her home, with her loving husband by her side. She was born in Jay, March 16, 1936, the daughter of Michael and Lettie (Crowningshield) Buckley. She grew up in Jay and graduated from AuSable High School in 1953. She married Phillip Duprey, February 22, 1955 in St. Matthew's Church in Black Brook. Millie was a loving homemaker and mother figure to not only her own family but to all the neighborhood children. She enjoyed bingo, camping, fishing, and baking. She was a devout Catholic and member of the Keeseville Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. Left to cherish the memory of Millie are her husband of 65 years, Phillip Duprey; two daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis (Gary) Burch of Plattsburgh, and Debbie (Robert) Laundry of Plattsburgh; seven grandchildren, Traci, Bobbi, John, Mindy, Cassandra, Thomas, and Sarah; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Jane Nelson; one brother, Kenneth Buckley; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by five siblings, Frances Buckley, Irene (Eli) Labombard, Rita (Roland) Paquin, Elizabeth (Napolean) Trombley, and Helen (Desmond) Lawrence; brother-in-law, Robert Nelson; sister-in-law, Ann Buckley. There will be no public calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in St. Augustine's Church in Peru. Burial will be held at a later date in St. Augustine's Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Peru Fire Dept. or the Peru Rescue Squad.
