Kevin Michael Rotz (Rotzy), 55, of Peru, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at home with his family by his side. Kevin was born January 6, 1965, in Plattsburgh, to Guy P. and Elizabeth E. (Phillips) Rotz. He graduated from Peru Jr. Sr. High School in 1983 and attended both Clinton Community College and Paul Smiths College. Kevin had many titles and each were very special to him: Soulmate, Father, Grandfather, Son, Brother, Uncle, and Friend. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and doing anything which put a smile on other's faces. Kevin had a passion and natural talent for cooking and entertaining that made planning and executing an event, banquet, or party look like an artist creating a masterpiece rather than a chore or job. It was a joy and mezmerizing to watch him in action! He always wanted to make people feel special when he was with them, and would go to endless lengths to make a person feel as though they were the most important person in the world. It did not matter who you were, what your status was, or how much money you made. He would carry on a conversation and thank the pizza delivery person for their service in the same way he would the President. He always made sure to know your name and remember it. As sick as he was, Kevin remembered the names of all the nurses and doctors he encountered and was always so appreciative and thankful for what they were doing for him. Kevin remained relentlessly positive and hopeful. Even at the end, Kevin put on such a brave face for fear of worrying anyone, especially Mika. Before he'd allow himself to take a nap, he'd make sure everyone was ok and didn't need anything for a little while so he could rest, so selfless, but so Kevin. This characteristic carried through with whatever he touched. Kevin had numerous jobs in the food service industry prior to settling into a career with Budweiser at Plattsburgh Distributing. As a Sales Rep, Kevin had an incredibly extensive number of accounts. His work ethic and drive to represent himself and Plattsburgh Distributing was second to none. As true to form, Kevin made sure he took care of each of his customers as though they were his only one and as a friend. Throughout his 18 years working at Plattsburgh Distributing, Kevin became very well known throughout the North Country and touched the lives of so many, in so many different ways. It is impossible to capture everything Kevin was to everyone but there is no question he was adored by many and loved by all. He will be more than missed.
