Shirley A. Sayward, 75, of Woodlawn Lane, Willsboro, died Monday, July 1, 2019 at the UVM Health Network, CVPH in Plattsburgh, with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Willsboro, December 31, 1943, the daughter of Alvin and Flora (French) McLean. Shirley grew up in Willsboro and graduated from Willsboro Central School.
Shirley worked at St. Joseph's Provincial House, was a manager at Burger King, and was a manager at CVS until her retirement in 2005.
She enjoyed cross stitch and loved her birds, flower beds, baking and pickling foods. She made the best Michigan sauce.
Left to cherish the memory of Shirley are, her husband of 57 years, Roger A. Sayward, whom she married, November 24, 1962; her loving children, Gina Sayward, Lisa Sayward and Roger A. Sayward, Jr. and his wife, Tara; beloved grandchildren, Ashlea Sayward, Roger N. Sayward, McKenzia Suttle, and Jordan D. Sayward; siblings, Sandy (Roger) Sharrow, Alvin (Chris) McClean, Jr., Sue Wade, Shelley (Jim) Olsen, and Flora June (Doug) Doyle; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Shari Jarva.
Relatives and friends may call Friday, July 5, 2019 from Noon to 2 PM at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A funeral service will follow at 2 PM in the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Fred Shaw, officiating.
