Henrietta H. Blaise, 88, of Truman Avenue, Plattsburgh, and formerly (for 56 years) of the Laphams Mills Road, Peru, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2019, at the UVM Health Network, CVPH, Plattsburgh, with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Burlington, VT., on December 2, 1930, the daughter of Orman and Ebba (Carpenter) Rockwell.
Henrietta was a devoted, loving wife and mother and a very giving person. She loved being with people. Her favorite job was meals on wheels where she met and made many new friends. She also worked for Ausable Point, Holiday Inn. Henrietta was very interested in researching her family history; she loved music, old movies, square dancing and line dancing. Henrietta loved taking care of the elders and also loved being around her children. She never had a bad word to say to anyone and was always willing to stop and talk to someone. She never complained about anything and always took everything in stride. Henrietta took pride in being from Vermont and visited many covered bridges.
Survivors include two Daughters, Sandra and (Harry) Pollino of Peru , N.Y., and Karen and (Tommie) Allegood of Moultrie, Ga.; two Sons, Alan and (Maggie) Blaise of Woodstock, Ga., and Robin Blaise and companion, Helen Vaillancourt; eight grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and One Great-Great granddaughter.
In addition to her parents, Henrietta was predeceased by her Husband, Elmer P. Blaise, and sister, Norma Luce Chapin.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, April 16, 2019, from 5 to 7 PM at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 17, 2019, at 10 AM at St. Augustine's Church, 3035 Main Street, Peru, with the Rev. William G. Reamer, celebrating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
Donations in memory of Henrietta H. Blaise may be made to the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center, Plattsburgh.
