Kenneth G. "Ken" Wood, II

Kenneth Gerald Wood, II, 57, of Parrotte Way, Schuyler Falls, died Monday, April 1, 2019 at his home under the loving care of his family and Hospice of the North Country. He passed peacefully while listening to Pat describe a kayaking trip on the North Branch of the Saranac.

He was born in Plattsburgh, August 17, 1961, the son of Kenneth Gerald, Sr. and Margaret (Tripp) Wood. He grew up in Plattsburgh and graduated from Peru High School.

Ken owned and operated CW Precision Mold and was the true old fashioned machinist. He loved nothing better than to make the perfect part. He also loved hunting, fishing, kayaking, biking, sailing, skiing, cutting wood, yoga, NASCAR, Maine, driving his tractor and watching the moon come up over Lake Champlain at Valerie and Walter's. He volunteered teaching scuba at the YMCA and was an assistant instructor for 19 years.

Ken loved to talk but was also a great listener who encouraged us to follow our dreams. He could spend so much time talking, he then had to work late hours. His smile attracted friends everywhere. Ken had twice the energy of most people and accomplished a great deal in his short life including building his own home. Visitors always marveled at the beautiful fireplace in his house that was his pride and joy.

He will be sorely missed but we carry a little bit of Ken with us every day.

Left to cherish the memory of Ken are, his mother, Margaret Tripp Wood; sister, Denise Morgan and her husband, Tom; nephew, Dean Akey and family; niece, Ashley Anctil and her husband; and many close friends.

He also leaves behind his loving companion, Cheryl Brosnan.

Calling hours will be held Saturday, April 13, 2019 from 10 to Noon at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A funeral service will follow at Noon in the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be later in the spring in St. Alexander's Cemetery in Morrisonville.

Donations in his memory may be made to the Cancer 4 Yoga at the CVPH Foundation.

Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru, 643-9055.
