Glen Ray Pearce, 76, of the Davern Road, Peru, passed away Friday, December 28, 2018 at Meadowbrook Healthcare in Plattsburgh, with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Detroit, Michigan, February 20, 1942, the son of Raymond and Elizabeth (Hughes) Pearce.
Glen began his career as a welder. He owned and operated Pride Construction Company in West Springfield, Massachusetts for several years, prior to moving to the North Country in 1976. Glen worked as a millwright at Imperial Paper Mill and then a pipefitter with Cianbro Corp until his retirement in 2009. He then continued to spend his time with his wife promoting their successful enterprise, Welbian Farm Dairy Goats.
Glen would be best known as a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Left to cherish the memory of Glen are, his loving wife of 56 years, Donna (Lemieux) Pearce; daughters, Ellen (Jon) Gordon, Nancy (Michael) Branchaud, and Rebecca (Steve) Mabe; grandchildren, Kelly (Santina) Gordon, Randi and Mackenzie Gordon, Tyler and Zachary Branchaud, Kylie Mabe, Alex (Kalie) Pearce, and Michael Pearce; The first great-grandchild, Julian Gordon; two sisters, Florence (Lyle) Hukill and Dorothy Bernath; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved canines, Muffin and Biscuit.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, David; sister, Patricia Gillette; brothers, Mike, Frank, and Victor; and brothers-in-law, Roger Lemieux and Dale Bernath.
A Mass Of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, December 31, 2018 at 10 AM at St. Augustine's Church in Peru with Rev. Alan D. Shnob, parish priest, celebrating.
