Stacey Lee Mitchell, 62, of North Street, Port Kent, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.
He was born in Plattsburgh, October 8, 1955, the son of Samuel and Aileen (Drinkwine) Mitchell. He grew up on a farm in Whallonsburg and later as a teenager the family moved to Willsboro.
Stacey worked for JUDCOR, Francis Bezio, Richard Glode, and was currently working for Huntley Trucking and for many years would lend a hand at Rock's Garage in Peru.
He enjoyed hunting, demolition, and especially spending time with his grandchildren.
Left to cherish the memory of Stacey are, his loving wife of 40 years, Sally (Rock) Mitchell, whom he married August 5, 1978 in Willsboro; daughter, Jamie Mitchell and her partner, Summer Nichols; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Rodney and Christopher and Angela McCray; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Wendy and Alan Aubin, and Jane and Frank Bashaw; brother and sister-in-law, Gregory and Gael Mitchell; sister-in-law, Geraldine Mitchell; mother-in-law, Joan Rock; 14 grandchildren and one due on Tuesday, August 21, 2018; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law on the Rock side; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by two brothers, George and Wayne Mitchell; and his father-in-law, Roland Rock.
A celebration of Stacey's life will be held Saturday, August 25, 2018 , from 2 to 4 PM at the Keeseville VFW Post 1505.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Autism Society in honor of his grandson, Aaron McCray.
