Shirley Mary Nora (LaFountain) Kusalonis, 84, of Hollywood Avenue, Keeseville, died Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at the UVM Health Network, CVPH, Plattsburgh, with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Keeseville, April 13, 1934, the daughter of Alfred and Helen (Martin) LaFountain.
Shirley enjoyed spending time with family and friends, crocheting, crossword puzzles, cooking, watching NASCAR, and she loved watching soap operas.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Evette VanValkenburg of Plattsburgh, Helen Welch of Witherbee, NY, Nora VanValkenburg of Plattsburgh, Shirley Hemingway and husband Ricky of Peru, Cindy Hemingway of Peru, Leo and companion Julie Ann of West Chazy, Stanley Kusalonis and wife Bonnie of Schuyler Falls, Cora Cooley and husband Steve of Keeseville, Billy Kusalonis of Keeseville, Donna De Meulemeester and husband Henry of Keeseville; brothers, Norman LaFountain of Keeseville, Nicky LaFountain and wife Annie of Keeseville, Stanley LaFountain and wife June of Illion, NY; sister, Sharon Welch and husband Howard; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and long time family friend Brenda and Paul Ero and family.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Cora and Anthony Kusalonis; her husband, Leo Stanley Kusalonis; brothers, Sidney LaFountain, Sherwood LaFountain, Neal LaFountain, and Sherman LaFountain; grandson, Reegan Cooley; 2 great grandsons, Cody and Ryan VanValkenburg; and sons-in-law, Wayne VanValkenburg, Joe VanValkenburg, Leeward Hemingway, and Raymond L. Welch.
Relatives and friends may call Friday, July 13, 2018 from 10 to 11AM at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 124 Clinton Street, Keeseville. A funeral service will follow at 11AM in the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William G. Reamer, officiating. Committal prayers and burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Keeseville.
