Obituary of Mary Moran

Mary E. Moran, 73, of Dicks Place, Port Kent, died unexpectedly, Sunday, October 8, 2017, at the UVM Health Network, CVPH. Her family will always cherish the special day they had together, the day before Mary passed. Mary and her husband Jim had a wonderful evening with their great-grandaughter and family.

She was born in Star Lake, NY, December 27, 1943, the daughter of Donald and Esther (Mace) Quinn. Mary grew up on Buck Hill in Harkness. She attended school in the one-room schoolhouse on Buck Hill and later in AuSable Forks. Her family home burned in 1959 and the family moved to Keeseville. Her education continued at Keeseville Central School.

Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She took great pride in making her house a home and caring for her family and three special dogs, Shep, Shorty, and especially Poco. Mary enjoyed shopping, word puzzles, scratch-offs, gardening, baking, cooking, traveling and spending time with her family.

Left to cherish the memory of Mary are, her loving husband of nearly 57 years, James F. Moran, whom she married February 11, 1961 in the Immaculate Conception Church in Keeseville; three children, Pam (Ron) DeLap, Jim (Tina) Moran, and Mike (Deb) Moran; grandchildren, Olivia Moran, Brandon (Chelsea) Moran, Ronnie (Anne) DeLap, and Eric DeLap; great-grandchildren, Emilia, Ariana, and Adalyn Moran; siblings, Mona (Don) LeClair, Diane (Terry) Douglas, Esther "Lou" (Frank) LeClerc, Ron (Bea) Quinn, and Kate (Bill) Purick; and many nieces and nephews.

In additon to her parents, she was predeceased by siblings, Adrian, Willy, Jess, and Donny Quinn; parents-in-law, James and Ruth (Mace) Moran; and brother-in-law, Pat Moran.

Relatives and friends are invited to call, Wednesday, October 11, 2017 from 11 to 12:30 at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 124 Clinton Street, Keeseville. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1 PM in the Immaculate Conception Church in Keeseville. Committal prayers and burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
