Richard H. "Buggs" Chase, Jr.

Cadyville – Richard H. "Buggs" Chase, Jr., 77, of the Goddeau Road, Cadyville, died Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at the UVM Health Network, CVPH in Plattsburgh, with his loving family by his side.

He was born in Altona, May 29, 1940, the son of Richard H. Chase Sr. and Margaret (Brooks) Chase.

Richard worked at Republic Steel in Lyon Mt., Superintendant of Village of Dannemora and retired from Altona Correctional Facility in Altona.

He was a member and current treasurer of Lost Pond Hunting Club, SAL of Post 1618 of Redford, Past member of Dannemora Rod and Gun, Town of Dannemora Councilman, Dannemora Fire Dept, played CVBL for Lyon Mt. Miners for many years, Thursday night CO Bowling league, also enjoyed watching NY Yankees and NY Giants. Richard enjoyed family time, especially hunting and fishing with his grandsons Rich, Matt and Jeremy.

Survivors include his four daughters, Lynn Drollette and husband Bruce of Cadyville, Charlene Favaro and husband Jeffrey of Cadyville, Tammy Juntunen and husband Jamey of Chazy Lake, and Gerry Chase of Cadyville; eight grandchildren, Stephanie and John Shusda and Matt Drollette, Jessica and Brad and Jeremy Favaro, Richard R. Chase, Maddy Newell, and Josh and Brett Juntunen; four great grandchildren, Cooper, Tayler and T.J. Chase and Teriana; Brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronald and Cindy Chase, Henry and Judy Chase, and Larry and Suzanne Chase; many nieces and nephews; very special friend Sally Shusda.

He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Geraldine T. (Ryan) Chase who died December 4, 2009. Brother, Allen P. Chase, 1989.

Callings hours will be held Friday, April 13, 2018 from 4 to 7pm at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 10am at St. James Church in Cadyville with the Rev. William G. Reamer, celebrating. Entombment in Whispering Maples Mauseleum will be private.

Donations in his memory may be made to Lost Pond Hunting Club or to the Cadyville Fire Dept.
