Robert A. LaMere, Jr., 53, of Sandy Pines Trail, Keeseville, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2018, at his home under the loving care of his family and High Peaks Hospice.
He was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on October 7, 1964, the son of Robert and Mildred (Preston-Hodges) LaMere, Sr.
Robert was a caretaker for several camps on Lake Champlain until his diagnosis of cancer. His many mounted large buck trophies hanging on the living room wall, attest to his love for big game hunting. And although he loved fishing and camping as well, Robert was first a family man and cherished time spent with those most dear to him. Although he's left loved ones morning a loss, Robert left many happy memories on the hearts of his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca (King) LaMere; son, Chandler LaMere of Keeseville; daughter, Chelsea LaMere Bessette of Westport; mother, Mildred LaMere-Hodges of Virginia; sisters, Betty LaMere Charette of Virginia, Nancy LaMere Phinney of Lewis, and Marie LaMere Merrill of Elizabethtown; two grandchildren, seven nephews, two nieces and several great nieces and nephews.
Robert was predeceased by his father, Robert A. LaMere, Sr.
At Robert's request, a private service will be held in the spring at the convenience of his family.
