Donald Austin Lamberton
Mooers Forks - Donald Austin Lamberton, 85, of Clearwater Florida, passed away, January 20, 2012, at the Shepherd Home, Penfield.
A native of Mooers Forks, he was born August 2, 1926, the son of Austin and Fern (Shelters) Lamberton. He served in the US Army as a paratrooper, married Irene and moved to Rochester, where they raised their family. He was employed by Bausch and Lomb and then retired to sunny Clearwater, Florida.
He enjoyed all sports, especially college basketball and was an avid golfer. He loved getting family and friends together to share great food and music, and would always lead the group in a hearty "clink" to health and happiness.
Beloved husband of Irene for 65 years, loving father of Peggy Steinberg and husband Fred, Dale Lamberton, and Phyllis Ives and husband Bill. Brother of Harold Lamberton and wife Trudy, Evelyn Richards and husband Lawrence, Robert Lamberton, Richard Lamberton and wife Almira, Betty Duquette and husband Lucien, Janice Sargeant, Sandra Sample and husband Alton, James Lamberton and wife Beverly, and Carol Hamilton and husband Walter. Two beloved grandchildren and four special great grandchildren; Michael Steinberg and wife Jennifer and their three sons, Mark, Christopher and Peter; and Julia MacDougall and husband Ryan and daughter, Ainsley. Fortunate to have known many nieces and nephews and their children.
He was predeceased by his parents; step-mother, Elricka (Frenyea) Lamberton; and sister-in-law, Janet Lamberton.
A memorial service will be held this summer.
