Mooers - Mildred L. Waddell, 102, of Mill Street, Mooers, died Sunday, December 25, 2011 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

She was born in Mooers Forks, June 27, 1909 the daughter of Ralph and Mabel (Sartwell) Lamberton.

She graduated from Mooers High School. She studied at Houghton College in Houghton, NY, and later earned her Masters Degree from Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio.

She was a school teacher in Mooers for several years. And later worked for the Clinton County Department of Social Services in Plattsburgh for nearly 40 years prior to retiring in the mid 70's.

Mildred was a longtime member of the Mooers United Methodist Church for 85 years. She was a bookkeeper for the Senior Living in Mooers. She enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting, and spending time in her flower garden. She and her husband Roland enjoyed square dancing throughout their marriage.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Rebecca Todd of Rochester; two grandchildren, Scott and Lisa Todd of Rochester, and Amy and Brian Cullather of Sarasota, Florida; six grandchildren, Samantha, Jessica, and Zachary Todd, and Collin, Riley, and Keeley, Cullather; sister, Bernice Meyer of Rochester; two nephews, Terry and Robert Meyer; two nieces, Sandy and her husband Andy Soulia, and Kathy and Ray Nannini; two great-nieces and one great-nephew, Heather, Michael, and Kirsten.

She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Roland Waddell; brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Ruth Lamberton; and brother-in-law, Jack Meyer.

Calling hours will be private and at the convenience of the family. A memorial service will be held Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 2 p.m. at the Mooers United Methodist Church with Rev. Al Johnson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Mooers Riverside Cemetery.
