Leo R. Murcray
Keeseville - Leo R. Murcray, 78, of Margaret Street, Keeseville died Monday, August 9, 2010 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh with his loving family by his side.

He was born in Jay, January 8, 1932 the son of Jerry and Marie (Hathaway) Murcray.

Leo served in the United States Army until his honorable discharge in 1954. He was a Correction Officer at Clinton Correctional Facility for 28 years. He was a lifetime member of the Keeseville VFW 1505.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Shirley M. (Blaise) Murcray, whom he married September 28, 1958; children, Michelle Murcray of Norfolk, VA, and Michael Murcray and his wife Jenny of Fredericksburg, VA; five grandchildren; sister, Delia Sheldrake of AuSable Forks; several step siblings; brother-in-law, Robert Blaise and his wife, Cookie of Plattsburgh; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.

He was predeceased by his parents.

Calling hours will be held Thursday, August 12, 2010 from 6 to 8pm at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 124 Clinton Street, Keeseville. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, August 13, 2010 at 11am at St. John's Church in Keeseville with Monsignor Leeward J. Poissant, parish pastor, celebrating. Committal prayers, full military honors, and burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Donations in his memory may be made to the charity of one's choice.
