Lillian J. Calkins
Keeseville - Lillian J. Calkins, 86, formerly of Beach Street, Keeseville died Thursday, July 15, 2010 at Meadowbrook Healthcare in Plattsburgh with her family present.

She was born in Keeseville, November 3, 1923 the daughter of Frank and Jessie (Jarvis) Lesperance. She grew up in Keeseville and graduated from Keeseville Central in 1940.
She was employed as a secretary at various locations throughout her life and retired from Peru Central School after 20 years of service.

Lillian was a former member of the Altar Rosary and the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed shopping and traveling but especially enjoyed spending time with "The Gang".

Survivors include her husband, Donald S. Calkins of Plattsburgh; nephews and nieces Jim and Mary King of Keeseville, Sandra and Floyd Frenia, of Ill., and children Melissa Winslow and Alex Lord, Susan and Meredith Lovern, of VA, and children Mark and Christian Lovern; and a very special niece, Anne Margaret King of Plattsburgh.

She was predeceased by her parents; sister, Winifred King; and infant brother, Herman Lesperance.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, July 18, 2010 from 3 to 6pm at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 124 Clinton Street, Keeseville. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, July 19, 2010 at 11am at St. John's Church in Keeseville with Monsignor Leeward J. Poissant, parish pastor, celebrating. Committal prayers and burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Altar Rosary Society.
