Yvonne C. Mello
Peru - Yvonne C. Mello, 75, of Sanborn Lane, Peru, died unexpectedly, Friday, July 9, 2010 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

She was born in Plattsburgh, August 17, 1934 the daughter of Arthur and Lila (Frenia) Bashaw. Yvonne grew up in Peru and graduated from Peru Central School in 1952. She worked for A & P Grocery in Keeseville for many years, later in Tupper Lake for a short time, and lastly Cumberland Head.

She enjoyed reading, and tending to her flower and vegetable gardens, but her true love was spending time with her family especially her beloved grandchildren.

A final note to "Gramma": "Dear Gram, We will miss you greatly, but will love you forever, even greater. We hope there are lots of York Peppermint Patties for you up in Heaven."

Survivors include her three sons and daughters-in-law, Craig and Brenda Bashaw of Salem, Matthew and Rene Mello of Glens Falls, and Martin and Peggy Mello of Peru; eight grandchildren, Steven Beebe, JC Beebe, Cameron Mello, Tyler Mello, Haylee Mello, Katelynn Mello, James Dupra, and Ashley Dupra; two sisters, Edna Dodge of Peru and Doris Bashaw of Peru; two brothers, Robert Bashaw of Albany and Edward Bashaw of Peru; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; brother, Joseph Bashaw; and two sisters, Agnes Chamberlain and Betty Ashline.

At Yvonne's request there will be no public calling hours or services. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in St. Augustine's Cemetery.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Peru Rescue Squad or the charity of one's choice.
