LaJammier Mooers - Robert L. LaJammier, 61, of the Hemmingford Road, Mooers, died Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at his home, under the loving care of his family and Hospice of the North Country. He was born in Plattsburgh, April 10, 1948, the son of Vernon and Evelyn (Parrot) LaJammier. Bob grew up in Mooers and attended school in Mooers. He was a well-known local barber and owned and operated Bob's Barber Shop in Champlain for more than 25 years. In earlier years he worked for Joe's Barber Shop in Plattsburgh and was a respected local cattle dealer. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed entertaining his family and friends at his home. Survivors include his wife, the former Joann Greenough; two daughters and sons-in-law, Robin and Andrew Quinn of Plattsburgh; Roxanne and Russell Sawyer of Lyon Mountain, eight grandchildren, Christopher and Julie Garand, Lacey and Abigail Quinn, David Venette, John Robert and Tia Hicks, and Tanner Sawyer; one great-grandson, Tripp Hicks; his mother, Evelyn (Parrot) LaJammier of Mooers; one sister and brother-in-law, Nicky and Kevin Strack of Mooers; special friends, Carolyn LaMountain of Mooers, and Steve Bulriss of Mooers; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Vernon LaJammier, August 15, 1998. Calling hours will be held Friday, January 22, 2010 from 5 to 7pm at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 793 Gilbert Road, Mooers. A funeral service will follow at 7pm at the Hamilton Funeral Home with Rev. Gilbert O. Boisvert, pastor of Holy Angels Church in Altona and St. Louis Of France Church in Sciota, officiating.
