When I entered high school and he first met me, he said, "Oh, no another Baker girl, you're not going to be as much trouble as your sister, Nancy, and her girlfriend, Carolyn, are you?" I asked him how he knew I was a "Baker" girl, because he told me our smiles were contagious and the red glow of our cheeks preceded us. He always, always, always, knew my name and said hi, even thought I had Mrs. Cordick for a counselor. His door was open to all students, if just to sit or dry on his shoulder when your friends were cruel and shunning you. I'll never forget you Mr. B and I have and will always love you.
