Elizabeth E. "Betty" Rotz Plattsburgh - Elizabeth E. "Betty" Rotz, 68, of the Military Turnpike, died Sunday, November 10, 2013 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Glens Falls, May 6, 1945, the daughter of Merton B. and Florence E. (Howard) Phillips. Betty grew up on "The Turnpike" and was a 1963 graduate of Peru Central School. Following high school she married her soulmate and best friend, spending her first 26 years of marriage as a devoted military wife and mother. Following Guy's retirement from the military, Betty and family settled in Peru where Betty was very active in the Peru Community Church Logos program, and Stephen's Ministry. Betty was also an active member of the Peru VFW Post 309, including the Color Guard.

Betty was a loving daughter, wife, mother, and nana. Her greatest joys always included anything that enabled her to spend time with her family; traveling and exploring new places; she loved learning, and had an amazing ability to make everything look easy.

Survivors include her husband, Guy P. Rotz of Plattsburgh; two sons, Kevin Rotz and his companion Mika Worden of Peru, and Tracy Rotz and his wife Cindy of Plattsburgh; one daughter and son-in-law, Tamala and Brian Gheller of Johnstown, Colorado; 5 grandchildren, Justine Elizabeth, Brett Patrick, Lucas Jon, Michael Jon, and Joseph Battista; her mother, Florence E. Phillips of Willsboro; three siblings, John W. and wife Blessy Phillips of Peru, Cathy L. Phillips of Willsboro, and James G. and wife Becky Phillips of Cambridge, Vermont; sister-in-law, Shirley Phillips of Morrisonville; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her father, Merton Phillips; and two brothers and sister-in-law, Walter M. Phillips, and Donald B. Phillips and his wife Leonora.

At Betty's request there will be no public calling hours. A memorial service will be held Thursday, November 14, 2013 at 11 AM at the Peru Community Church.  Burial will be held at a later date in God's Acre Cemetery.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Peru Community Church Capital Fundraising, PO Box 38, Peru, NY, 12972.

Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru.
